Buncombe County Schools does not require parental permission for students to be photographed, videotaped, and/or interviewed by system employees or media on routine school topics, activities, for public information, awards and honors, instructional and promotional purposes. Parental permission must be given to photograph, video, or interview students with physical or mental disabilities if they will be identified as such.
Parents or guardians may request their student not be photographed, videoed, and/or interviewed by notifying the school in writing within ten (10) days of the start of the school year. If parents submit such a request, the school encourages parents to follow up with administration to ensure the request was received.
