A.C. Reynolds High School recently transformed its auditorium into a vibrant runway for a Cartoon Couture Fashion Show. This unique event was the culmination of months of hard work by students in Macy Baldwin’s Apparel Course, who spent the spring semester designing and creating outfits inspired by beloved cartoon characters. The fashion show provided a platform for these young designers to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship to the entire school.

The students drew inspiration from a wide range of animated favorites, resulting in a diverse and colorful array of outfits that delighted the audience. From the quirky inventions of Dr. Doofenshmirtz from “Phineas and Ferb” to the sweet, nostalgic charm of Strawberry Shortcake and the iconic green ogre, Shrek, each design captured the essence of its character while highlighting the individual flair of its creator.

Macy Baldwin, the driving force behind this amazing event, let her students decide on this year’s theme.

“Each year, I let my students pick the theme of the show,” she said. “I have each student write down two themes that they would like to make an outfit for and after that, I tally up all of the similar themes and let the kids pick their favorite through an anonymous voting process. It took us quite a while to come to a final decision this year but we settled on what we thought would have the most variety, fun and nostalgia for the crowd!"
