In 2017, I retired from Black Mountain Elementary School.  I served there for eleven years as principal and had the best experience one can imagine - great kids, great staff, and a great community.  Back in August of this school year - 2021-22 - I had contact with Mr. Molinari.  He was looking for a part time assistant principal for Clyde A. Erwin Middle School.  We were talking bringing me on board for the first semester.  I thought that was pretty cool and after speaking about coming out of retirement to be a part time AP, we agreed.

I had no idea how much I would come to love this school and community.  We have such great kids and a staff which is hard working and dedicated to student growth and well being.  I was dreading leaving at the end of the first semester.  So, I was able to do the happy dance when Mr. Molinari asked if I wanted to finish the school year.  It took me about 1 nanosecond to say, "Yes."

As the days have gone by, my time here has been rewarding.  I am getting to know kids and staff . . . not always easy when you work part time!  I am daily inspired by the people I see when I am here.

My core belief is that a school is the heart of the community which it serves.  The implication there is that every day, every minute gives all of us the opportunity to make the world a better place. . . one teen at a time! I look forward to the unfolding of the school year.

While it is true that I am supervised as an assistant principal by Mr. Molinari, I am not just his assistant.  I am yours as well.  As your assistant principal, albeit part time, I am here for the kids, the staff, and you.  Feel free to contact me, if I can ever be of assistance to you and/or yours.
